Machined Chip Recovery and Process Systems

Aerospace industries generate a considerable amount of valuable machined chips, especially structural components utilized in light weight high performance aircraft must be machined from billet materials including titanium and high grade aluminums. Special projects started in 2007 have displayed a considerable return on investment for the extraction, in-line “closed-loop” process cleaning and handling of these materials. The S.C.T. (Simultaneous Clean and Transfer ) system (patent-pending) was developed in 2006 to meet the specific needs of this application by generating from coolant soaked chips a continuous stream of cleaned recovered materials. The capture and containment of classified materials is also complimented by this process.
